Some Old/New Things

Since this blog is about my hobbies, I decided to post some of my old and new art work. First off is portraits. This is my favorite, although difficult, form to draw. I find that proportion is the hardest thing to get right when it comes to drawing any figure, especially a face.
This portrait was inspired from the eyes of a model in a magazine ad. I started with her eyes and made the rest of her face my own from there.
The inspiration for this portrait came from a line of clothing in a magazine.

After drawing for so long in pencil, I thought about working with color and this is what came of it. These drawings were inspired by a tattoo artist's sketches who specialized in Japanese art. I thought they had tremendous potential and I, once again, made it my own.

This next one is just a portrait gone crazy, and again, experimenting with color.

And finally we have my latest piece of random. I was feeling mighty creative one day and decided to make an abstract piece. I started with a drawing, then I used a bunch of different paper I had collected from scrapbook stores and cut the the shapes out I needed, glued them to a canvas and painted the edges brown.
Well, that about sums it up for my old/new things to share. I am working on some more 40k hobby, so I will probably post my progress this weekend.
